Ingredients
  • 2 cups Tamarind PasteMust be Sour
  • 1/5 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  1. Soak the tamarind in 4 cups of water overnight. (for every cup of tamarind you need 2 cups of water)

  8. Bring back under medium heat and add the red pepper powder & salt and cover until boils.

  10. The tamarind must continue to boil until it gets thick, the consistency of the chutney depends on how you like it. If you like it thicker, keep it more under the heat if you like it watery, remove it from the hear sooner.

  11. Once removed from the heat add the cardamom powder and mix well for extra aroma. Once cooled, keep it fridge for up to six months. You can use it for cooking and as a sauce with you snacks. Its yummy & healthy.
